The team at Forest Lane Capital has extensive experience in both closing private equity transactions and running day-to-day operations. We are focused on investing material personal capital and man-hours in each transaction while leveraging strategic and operational resources to advance a business. In addition to the team members outlined below, we are supported by a deep bench of executives available to support our efforts depending on the specific needs of each transaction or portfolio company.
Joel serves as Managing Partner at Forest Lane Capital. He has extensive experience investing control equity, mezzanine debt, and minority equity in the lower middle market, having closed 18 deals representing approximately $350 million in transaction value. Joel previously served on the Board of Directors for Uncle Charley’s Sausage and Red Head Brass.
Prior to FLC, Joel served as Vice President at Tecum Capital Partners, which is a multi-strategy investment firm focused on making control equity, minority equity, and mezzanine debt investments in lower middle market companies. Prior to Tecum, Joel was an Assistant Vice President at PNC Financial Services, where he focused on delivering financial solutions to corporate clients. Joel began his career in PNC’s Asset Backed Finance Group where he helped structure and underwrite corporate securitization. Joel earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Wake Forest University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Eric serves as an Operating Advisor at Forest Lane Capital. He is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and operator. Eric completed five separate ventures as owner and operator from 1998 to 2017 – all of which were highly successful including three sales to private equity and two sales to Fortune 500 companies. Representative exits include TrueLearn (online and mobile learning services), RedZone Robotics (infrastructure inspection services), PartsZone (aerial work platforms), Blue Fish Labs (e-commerce), and ProLine Services (rail car manufacturing). Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
